How to buy a guitar

On the “Design Options” page of my website, you can explore the possibilities and make an initial selection to help shape your dream guitar.
The clearer your ideas and wishes are, the more time we’ll have later to focus on the truly essential aspects.

A personal meeting with me, Daniel Zucali, at my workshop is the best way to design a guitar tailored exactly to your needs.

If that’s not possible, an online meeting is the second-best option.
Once the design of your guitar is finalized, the order will be confirmed with the first down payment due upon order acceptance.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Terms of payment

Payment is always made in EUR. All applicable fees (currency exchange, transaction fees, etc.) are to be paid by the buyer.

First Installment:
A deposit of 10% of the purchase price is due upon order acceptance.

Second Installment:
Before work begins on the ordered guitar, an additional 40% of the purchase price is to be paid. Daniel Zucali will notify you of this date in writing (an email is sufficient).

Final Invoice:
Before delivery of the ordered guitar, the remaining 50% of the purchase price is due.

Country of payment

Buyers from the EU:
Buyers who pick up the guitar at Daniel Zucali’s studio will pay the VAT applicable in Austria, which is included in the invoice. This also applies to private buyers who have the guitar shipped within the EU..

Buyers from a Third Country:
Buyers who pick up the guitar at my studio and export the instrument to a third country will also pay the VAT applicable in Austria, which is included in the invoice. Upon import of the guitar to a third country, the customer will receive an export certificate. Once this certificate is submitted to Daniel Zucali, the withheld VAT can be refunded. Any associated costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Buyers who arrange shipping to a third country with Daniel Zucali will receive an invoice excluding the VAT payable in Austria. The export certificate will be issued by the shipping company and handed directly to Daniel Zucali. Packaging and shipping costs will be invoiced separately.

Right of Withdrawal

Private individuals have the right to withdraw from the purchase up to two weeks after the delivery of the ordered guitar. A guitar that shows damage, such as scratches or dents, cannot be returned unless there is a case of warranty.
If the buyer’s written withdrawal notice is received before the work on the ordered guitar begins, i.e., before the second installment invoice is sent, 10% of the purchase price will be retained by Daniel Zucali.
If the buyer withdraws from the contract after the work has started, 35% of the purchase price will be retained by Daniel Zucali.
This applies exclusively to standard instruments and not to custom-made guitars!

Delivery

The guitar will be handed over at a mutually agreed time at the studio of Daniel Zucali.

Unless explicitly offered, the prices do not include a case. However, I am happy to assist you in sourcing the case that best suits your needs.

Shipping or delivery to another location must be separately agreed upon. Any associated costs will be invoiced separately to the buyer.

CAUTION!

Wood is a living material. This means that the instruments will develop differently over time and may slightly warp.
Especially in the first few months, the string action may change, which can be adjusted free of charge by Daniel Zucali in his workshop within the first two years upon request.

Please note that wood is very sensitive to fluctuations in relative humidity (and temperature). If the relative humidity drops significantly below 50%, damage to the instrument is to be expected! High temperatures combined with humidity can loosen the glues, and the wood will shift – this can lead to potential damage to the instrument.

Make sure to store the instrument in an environment with 55% to 65% humidity, and, if possible, at room temperature.
