Normally, I don’t build ukuleles, but I owed someone a favor and wanted to take on the challenge of building a truly great bass ukulele.
Udo Rösner and the company Scheller kindly agreed to develop custom parts specifically for this instrument.
This bass ukulele is based on the Santino model series – a good decision. It produces wonderfully punchy basses with real power.

So far, I’ve found only one manufacturer that makes suitable strings for this instrument:
